Microsoft Teams up with Real Networks

Wow, Microsoft just keeps making worse and worse decisions.

Quote:
Microsoft (MSFT) struck two deals this week with sometime adversaries to take on mutual competitors. Analysts say the deals with RealNetworks (RNWK) and Yahoo (YHOO) could signal a return to Microsoft's roots of successfully challenging IBM by finding the right allies. Both agreements also show how seriously Microsoft takes competitors, including Google (GOOG) and Apple Computer (AAPL).

Microsoft "grew to a point where they thought they were big enough they could weather any storm," says analyst Rob Enderle. "I think they've been reminded recently that nobody's really big enough."

Microsoft needs to stop making such rash decisions trying to fend off Google. No one likes Real Networks, signing with them cannot lead to anything good.

What do expect? If Microsoft goes down, they'll take others down with them.
