First, it's BIMMER not beamer. If you can't get that right stfu. It's in the name of the F***ing forum.
Second, while I completely agree w/ you that a lot of bimmer owners do "rice" their cars out, there are several components you described as rice which in fact or not (i.e. 19 inch rims made by Dinan to help optimize the e46 handling, and numerous body components that increase engine and or brake cooling, down force, and overall aerodynamics).

that arguement would work if it was reffering to the E46, we are talking about the E36, and who the hell in the forum that has an E36 could benfit from aerodynamic mods, last time i checked i didnt see any of these E36 owners racing their cars...i know a lot of E36 guys who race their bimmers but dont do any body mods for aerodynamics, cause, well they just dont have enough power to really benefit from it
-Kyle
how would coilovers not increase or even decrease performance catalyst? thats not the exact definition of ricer/rice btw, its people who have mods that do nothing to performance, look extremly ugly, aka altezzas, and have mods on a crappy car, aka honda civic/volkswagen scirroco(sp?)(haha kidding gotkraut)

Yeah, there's a difference between "ricer" mods, and quality, tasteful "European" type mods. For instance, if I had a bimmer (any model), and put a fat ass wing on the trunk, that acted more like a sail, pointless air intake on the roof or hood, then, yes, that would be riced out. If I put clear corners on it, different wheels, wider tires, etc on it, it's not. So, anything over an 18" wheel is riced? So, you mean to tell me that all those thugs driving in their Escalades, rollin' on 22"s are driving riced out Escalades? I think not, sir.

I would say its a Riced out Escalade. Plus its a big dumb truck. I have Big ass chrome wheels just so I look awsome, sounds like a ricer mentality to me.

Coilovers are rice because everyone just gets them for looks and not performance. If you got coilovers because the stock suspension wasn't enough for the way you drive, then ok.

Granted, I don't think Escalades are all that, and a bag of chips. I think they're over-played. It's a fine line between modded, and riced out, though. I mean, yeah, a 15" coffee can for an exhaust, that's crap. But just because you put mods on your car, to make it look better, I don't think necessarily makes it riced out.
* you know the make, model, and year of every sweet car within 20 miles
* you can make the guy with the e39 M5 at the gas station give you the "what are you talking about" face when discussing future and previous iterations of his car.
* You can mentally recall each time you've seen an Enzo Ferrari.

* Instead of paying attention in Algebra like you should, you flip through the Bavarian Autosport catalog and pick out mods for a car you don't own.....yet. (I actually did this today. filled up a piece of paper front an back with parts for the e36 M3 I plan to get after graduation.

Your Ride: Whatever I can get my hands on
i'm gonna have to throw my hat on the side of catlyst. Bimmer drivers really are arrgant sometimes and they do one thing and call it tasteful but when a honda gets new tailights its rice.
i'm not getting into this one. but i do completely agree. thats why almost every E36 on UB has at least one "1" on rate my car. and then y'all bitch about it because you think your car is the hottest shit around so yu post about how you were treated unfairly.
