a "hogsheads" is a unit of measurement for volume. ( mostly for alcoholic beverages) 1 hogshead of wine is normaly equal to 63 US Gallons.While a hogshead of beer or ale is 54 US gallons... try to use it in common speech. maybe next time you get 3 kegs, 2 thirty racks, two six packs, a fourty, two loose cans, and a 1.5 oz shot of beer, you can say " i bought a hogshead of beer"
