Smile Ramadan

Well the month of Ramadan starts tomorrow (Wednesday). I’ll be fasting from 4.30am till 6.00pm for one month. During that time frame, we can’t eat, drink or smoke.
After the month of Ramadan is Shawal. That’s the month we Muslim brothers and sisters celebrates the EID FITRI. That’s all I going to say for now.

To all Muslim,
Happy fasting

I never really inderstood the whole meaning of fasting. I'm sure there is a meaning in the Muslim religion, but why would there be sometihing involved in religion that hurts your body? Isn't religion supposed to better your lifestyle not harm or be unhealthy to practice?

I just don't get it.

It’s not an unhealthy of practice. It’s really up to you weather you want to fast or not. That’s why we eat before 4.30am (Prayer time) after that we can’t eat till sunset. Seriously you won’t feel it. We did it to feel how the poor people live and suffer. That’s why we gave ZAKAT (Money donation) to the poor during Ramadan. The money then can be use by them for the celebration EID.
FYI girls are not recommended to fast for the whole month since they have their periods. Kids below 12 years of age are not allowed to fast.

There is many more meaning of Ramadan.

Some Islamic country called it “EID” but Brunei calls it “EID FITRI” .It’s like Christmas for the Christians.

No. We don’t get presents like Christmas. On the first day we‘ll go to the Mosque in the morning. After finish praying, we do a family gathering at Grandpa’s house. Food is serving like buffet style. All cousins, uncles and even long lost cousins will be there to celebrate.
I still remember last few years, my cousins and I play the Fire cracker. Not the normal one but a big “Bomb” type. Too bad it’s ban by the government.
The second day of EID, friends will come to the house and I’ll go to theirs. That’s why we’ll go like in convoy of cars.
Third day, it’ll be like a normal day for everybody. The celebration mood will decline. Other might still do it.
FYI, EID FITRI is only celebrated cheerfully in Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia. Countries like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, India etc. EID for them is like a normal day. They just pray on the first day of EID and that’s it. They celebrate EID ADHA;
That is after the HAJ season. They will celebrate it with joy.
For us the EID ADHA is only normal days for us.We just do a special prayer in the morning.

Actually it’s a day where we seek forgiveness from our elder, like our parents and Grandparents.
But we treat it like a big celebration. We make it like Christmas. Hahaha. We are actually too much in celebrating like this. It's been like this for decades.

Good luck with the fast. I don't know how I would make ti a month without eating since I work ouot everyday. I would probably loose numerous pounds of muscle since I wouldn't be able to get enough protein in me

What's the difference missing Lunch and normal time Breakfast? We have very early breakfast like 4am and dinner at sunset (6pm). We can still have the protein and the energy.
