I agree with Lando, he is right, Its like if you give a homless boozer cash, he says he will buy some clothes and find a job, but what is he really doing with that money? ....more booze

And on the other hand if you give it to a church or something, they will do what the money was intended for

On another note, Chris your idea is a good one, but I don't think you have the resources to make this happen properly. I applaud your generousity though.

Do you not know how to read Land? Notice the bold section. I didn't say find some crackhead. I said someone who is DESERVING. As for the RC being the only "good" place out there I call total BS. Remember 9/11? Remember the MILLIONS of money that was brought in? There were still THOUSANDS of families who did not see a dime and there was a huge scandal about the mis-use of money during that. O'Reilly said so

oh and good argument with numbers that you don't even know if they exist. Real smart man.

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

Like I said, find a family who really needs it and is deserving and I'm in.

okay, so here's the deal. i want to do this but can't afford to set up a paypal account that accepts credit cards and such. so i need to get harry to let me use the UB one and then i'll go to athens and pick up the end amount and take it down to mobile.

to get the maximum amount of donations, i'll hand it personally to a family with children who's home has been destroyed and could really use the help. i'll take a digital camera down with me and get pictures and such.

now to track down harry...

So you are the end all opinion on this? You going to do background checks before feeding and clothing someone?

I can read just fine, thus my opinion on your forever convoluted opinons.

Also, read below for not posting the "actual" numbers.

I don't have the TIME to find those again. You have Google access, right?

Dug back up:

91% of all donations to the Red Cross see the people that need them (info from MSNBC)

http://www.charitynavigator.org/inde...orgid/3277.htm

88% of the UNICEF donations make it there (info from MSNBC)

http://www.charitynavigator.org/inde...orgid/4617.htm

Christian Children's Fund (not doing the math)

http://www.charitynavigator.org/inde...orgid/3499.htm

My recollection isn't SO bad for reading this stuff a year ago. Naysayers; piss off.

Guess how I found these "gems"... *gasp*... I looked them up. There, show ME some numbers oh-wise hater of anything not roundel.

I have contributed 100 dollars to the Red Cross, and my wife has donated 50. Instead of just talking about doing something, debating what is valid and what isn't, or just turning my nose up with ignorance (this has nothing to do with most posters in this thread), I did something, and provided facts as to where your donations go.

this isn't going to get solved, so i went ahead and donated all $3xx of my paycheck to red cross. i didn't need it nearly as much as some people did. I went and cashed my paycheck, walked two miles to the red cross office here in rome, and donated. i then walked my ass back to campus and signed up to help fundraise. So i feel pretty good about myself right now. For those of you that get off on making excuses, have fun. I did something about it, and I feel great.
