Why can't the US just run a temp. pipeline to canada to "borrow" some gas for a week or two?

Or does it not work like that? lol

This is no garden hose dude, it's like 5 feet in diamater...

Even if they just run it smaller, they still ned welders and lots of heavy machinary and TONS of planning. Zoning laws, it's a huge deal.

ok...my uncle is in coop w/ petro and here is their dilemma: the gulf port's piplelines are down b/c of power outage and there is no oil being shipped there. the only oil being pumped thru pipelines is what is left in the tanks which was supposed to last til this coming tuesday but with all the hype of running out more people are buying gas than they predicted and are running even shorter. the only states not getting any are the southeastern states which is why it has gone up so much, and ATL is getting the worst of it with prices going up past 4.50/gal. my friends dad found a gas station after riding around for over an hour in ATL trying to find a station that wasn't closed to find gas to get back here to rock hill!

I heard that the rise in price is mainly because the US is putting an Embargo on the gas they were purchasing from Venezuela.

this whole gas crisis for the past couple years is bullshit. I think we need to go kick who ever's ass it takes to get prices back to normal.

Because the government has control over what price people sell oil to us is. (Sarcasm)

fuck the middle east, we need to just start pumping in alaska and everywhere else and provide for ourselves, in turn, we wont be paying the middle eastern countries for oil, and in turn that money wont support terrorism, and then the terrorists will be like oh shit, were fucked, problem solved

World peace....lol

^^ we ARE pumping in alaska.... the Trans-Alaska pipeline. Everyday it brings us 1 million barrels of oil. Unfortunately, that's not enough for a fraction of the nation.
