i believe its possible that the "spirit" for lack of a better term could "haunt" a place of great pain. i have no real proof. iv been in a bunch of " haunted" places and i dont think i would get that, hair standing up on the back of your neck feeling for nothing. i really only get it in this old insane assylum. i mean like turn of the century old...

Rte 7 in NJ (aka Belleville Turnpike) is notorious for apparitions. You see a person in the middle of the road picking something up off the ground, then you get to where they're supposed to be and they disappear. I never believed it till I saw it twice with my own eyes. No bullshit. You might say that I saw it because I heard about it before, but I never believed it, so it should not have happened to me. I almost ran her over, but nothing, nowhere, as I got to her.

I live right next to the famous "Haystack Landing"

http://adventuretravel.about.com/od/...s/a/102304.htm

Quote:
Haystack Landing: The Scariest Place on Earth

California's ungoing unexplained mystery
Strange and frightening are terms that fall short in describing the intensity of the ongoing mystery that has been unfolding for years at a place called Haystack Landing, just north of San Francisco in the town of Petaluma, California.

Death, tragedy, human suffering, unexplained and multiple incidents involving murder and violence and madness, are all apparently commonplace at this scary location, and continue to baffle investigators who are challenged to uncover the truth behind the tale even today.

Welcome to one of the scariest places on earth, where the questions far outnumber the answers, and where the unexplained is simply a way of life for those who have the ill-fortune of coming into contact with the property and the unexplained incidents that continue to occur there.

In fact, long before settlers came to the area to establish communities of trade and commerce, Native American legends and tales warned of unusual and tragic developments surrounding the property.

Unexplained deaths, temporary spells of violence and confusion were reported, and most everyone avoided the site like the plague.

But as time passed and new faces crowded in from the East, the property became strategically valuable as a river docking site where agricultural and forestry products could be shipped down the Californian coastline to meet the growing demand for natural resources and construction materials.

But unexplained incidents and tales about the place were beginning to mount. In its heyday as a docking site, several settlers had reportedly gone crazy and killed a group of farmers and innocent bystanders who happened to be nearby - for no apparent reason. They then turned on each other and were all later found dead.

As travelers and settlers passed through the small area of land in the ensuing years, reports flooded in of encounters with eerie apparitions, strange sounds and smells as well as foreboding sick feelings.

Perhaps the most publicized and recent incident happened in 1995 when a northern California University professor led five of his students to the property to investigate an alleged haunted house. The group unexpectedly encountered a violent assault from unknown assailants or sources, which spawned a massive forensic investigation that, so far, has failed to turn up any substantial answers.

Down through the years, a number of transients have also met their final fate at the site, all without explanation or conclusion.

But don't get you hopes up if you are a thrill seeker who wants to get a glimpse or feel for the site. Today the property is carefully guarded and permanently closed with local police patrolling the area regularly because of the large number of incidents that have happened there.

But take heart, though you can't visit the site (even if you wanted to take the chance), the property and its strange tale are the subject of an upcoming movie release, expected out early next year, when Hollywood attempts to put its spin on this unique and frightening tale. Until then, your guess is about as good as any as far as what is really happening at Haystack landing, and why the mystery continues to baffle modern investigative science.
After sneeking into the place with a few friends... the answer is yes, I do believe.

And the movie:

There are tons of accidents on that road, because everyone speeds there, thinking it's just an empty stretch of road. But the road goes up and down, and you can't see beyond the crest of the inclines.

The story with this woman is that she got out of her car to pick up a watch that she accidentally dropped out the window. As she did that, she got slammed by a semi. The truck driver sent her flying into the back of her car, then pinned her to it and pushed her and the car for about 70ft till he came to a stop. This happened back in the early 80's. She wears a white sun dress with flowers, to about her ankles; everyone describes her the same way. She appears when it's too late to stop, then she's gone just before you hit her. Crazy shit man . . I never drive through there at night, gives me the creeps.

Hell no. I barely get any sleep at night cuz i have insomnia so i guess i wud be the prime candidate to see ghosts. All I know is me and my buddy Tyler are rockin our own lives. I kinda do whatever he says. We actually started a club about fighting. I heard Tyler has some great idea. He's calling it project mayhem. Wonder what that's about huh?

My post kinda plays off of Delmarco's quote.
