shock fell off....

so, i was helping my grandparens move.i had a ton of stuff packed in the van. i was about a mile from town(they live in the middle of nowhere). ad hear this realy enoying grinding/knocking sound comeing from the back of the van. the first thing i thaught was "aw crap.. the shock fell off again." yah, its happend before . so i wait to pull over till i get to their house. wile im driving down mai street, everone is stairing at me. lol. the looks on their faces was so funny. aynway, i pull over, look under the van. and yep, the left rear shock fell off...again >_>. and now the shock is all bent up and we have to get a new one. its going to be about $100-150. i think it was because of all the extra weight in the van.... heres a pic:

I'm trying to decide if this thread should stay in the lounge, or go to general automotive because it's sorta-kinda tech related... hum...
