Pros/Cons of Other Forums

Okay, you all know we're trying to make this forum the best, which prompted this thread for consideration.

Please post what you like and dislike (both) about the following forums:

bimmerwerkz
bimmerforums
dtm power
maxbimmer
e46fanatics

and any others you're a member of. Try to list things that could help us, not things like "they have a lot of members", because that's obviously just in time. haha.

I don't want to give you guys any examples of what I'm thinking, because I don't want to influence any comments.

Thanks!

Talking

alright here i go. i absolutly loved bmw-forums. it seemed like everyone was willing to put some input in your thread, no matter if it was a newb question or not. they went homo and changed it to bimmerwerkz w/o asking any of the members, and thats why i hardly go there anymore. i never got in to DTM cuz they seemed too over the top for me, it was like, everyone in there had souped up cars and beat the crap out of them. also, they didnt seem to give the newguys a chance at all. the same goees for bimmerforums. bimmerforums never gave me a chance when i had little questions, they just passed over my threads. so...now UNITEDBIMMER.COM yaaa!!!!!!!!!!!. its nice to know a few of you guys from ex bmw-forums, it would be awesome to meet up sometime cuz a lot of us live in WASHINGTON. anyways, keep up the awesome work komodo/mods. i love it. later!!!

ill take a stab at this...

bmw-forums/bimmerwerkz- i like the old days of the forum... Back when furious was a mod in the e36 section and helped me learn about bmws. I liked when i didnt know about the lounge... and my early lounge days before all the hating and teasing. I like how you can get pretty good diy/faqs out of there. I dont like the lack of F/I take and lack of m3 drivers

Bimmerforums-Love the classifieds and the tech help i can get in a fast amount of time. Like how a lot of the members are friendly outside of the lounge. Dont like some of the members in the lounge. Dont like how big the forum feels... seems like they might need more staff to give it a more of a community feel.

DTM Power- LOVE THE regional forums(for meets, its great) and classifieds. like the f/i knowledge that can be gained, along with track/suspension talk. DOnt like how every new member gets on and wants to be dados best friend and freaks out cause he is there.. hes just another dude with a sweet car haha

Maxpower- havent been there.

e46fanatics-sets up some good meets for the NW

impreza.net- suby forum. lots of tech articles/movies helpful but not a bimmer forum... anyways thats it for now

dtm and e46fanatics got too many spoiled kiddies ruining cars that their mom and dad bought them. Boo.

Edit: Of course that's just my opinion. And no, just because those boards have a majority of losers doesn't mean that everyone that uses those boards are losers.

dtmpower is a joke with all the teckademics ricers kids, it's so pathetic, but there are a few members with a lot of knowledge that can help, but bimmer forums by far has the most knowledge out there, but bimmerforums looks nasty and i that's why i don't spend more time on there, but unitedbimmer looks so sexy, and werkz looks pretty good too

BMW-Forums back in the days when I first joined and El Presidente had just started the "It"s Raining" thread was cool. BMWBeauty, Witeshark and I think M3Dude had just joined the same time as me. Everyone was helpful, down to earth and funny. BMW-Forums also had the best sections (video, lounge, etc...) and was a cool place to meet people. Now that forums got outta control and some good freq. members disapeared and new crappy members joined. The only negative was that alot of cats there are like 15 yrs old and have puberty crisis and shit.

BimmerForums- was way to much for me. I joined for a day and never went back....no one answered my question and it seems like everyone was into how much they knew.

DTMPower- visited for a day....Wasn't interested in putting flame thrower exhaust on my car or 25 inch rims....

Don't really have much time now to play around with the forums...but United Bimmer looks to have taken the best of BMW-forums and expand on that....again its really the personality of the members and people in the forums that most appeal to me! I could care less about what car you drive or how much you think you know.....
