Moving Into College Tomorrow

So tomorrow morning I'm moving into my dorm at the University of GA. Should be an awesome day, I can't wait to not have any rules. However I'm kinda worried about my mom, she's not taking it very well (very emotional). I bought her a $45 box of Godiva Truffles today and she burst into tears when I gave it to her. My dad has been through this twice before (2 other daughters before my mom came along), however this is the first time for my mom. She's supportive, and when I'm around she tries to act as happy and collected as she can, but I have a feeling as soon as I'm in the next room over, she's in tears.

I remeber when my mom went through that with my older brother. Don't worry tho... they get over it pretty quick. Luckily when I left for college she was used to it and there were no tears for me to deal with

On another note.... I am sure you will have the time of your life while you are away from your parents. Just remember to get your school work done before all else. I doubt you will have any trouble tho considering you have been running a business for a while now.... Good Luck

i'm having teh same problem. i don't even go home before i move into my dorm. they're dropping me off on the way home from chicago. she's been surrounding herself with our closest family friends trying to keep herself together (not that i mind, our family friends have two VERY hot daughters, one's a senior in Hs and the other's a junior. both very hot... and mucho fun ). she's een having issues with my brother and i not staying in the same hotel room as them. I feel bad about how my mom's feeling but i have a week of straight partying before classes start. there's a triple kegger field party the first night (monday night).

damn harry, i didn't know you were moving otu so soon. we needed to chill before you left

DUDE COLLEGE IS FUCKING AWSOME. Be careful in the dorms you think there are no rules but they can still screw you over. But its sweet, I agree have your fun but do your school work I am still recovering from my 1st semester. By the way I can not wait to get Back to Michigan State University for welcome week, its off the hook. Oh and don't worry about your mothers they will get over it, my mother would have cried but my dad did not let her come with us when I moved in, so i didn't have to witness the crying. Anyway if your ever in Michigan let me know I will be a gracious host.

damn the college i'm going to is so close to the house i'm not staying on campus. I might go to a different university senior year, so I can at least experience dorm life a bit, or just go to firends dorms at University of Delaware.

My mom was the same way. Only cur eis call everydya for about a month and then hopefully space it out to once every three - four days. Of course I was a 26 hour drive from my parents.

I go back in 15 days.

Tomorrow you move into dorms, tomorrow night you drink, the morning after...well there is no morning....

Point being you better not be no pussy in your dorm. That was serious advice. Dont be the guy who sits at his computer a lot. Even if you are bored or alone, get out of ur room andinto a room of your neighbor, or even better, get every perosn u meet to party in ur room. At the beginnign of the year you gotta fight for the sole title of the "party room" of the floor. I was lucky and we became the party room of the building. These first few weeks are critical in attracting friends and findign which ones are the best for you> Which ones will have your back> Which ones will bend over just to help you. And which ones will help you set up a kiddie pool in your room.....is that just me?

In all honesty I encourage you to join a fraternity. Dont be shy, pick a fe wof your friend sform your floor and go to some rush events. Theya re free and fun and no commitment. Rush a few where you can blatantly see thye arent assholes. Listen to upperclassmen and find out which ones are known as jerks. Even better, listen to upperclass girls because they will tell you truthfully which fraternity is full of pricks or gentlemen.

And dont say "Oh il rush next semester or next year" because you never will, and its somethign you will wish you had done so much earlier.

I forget the fact, but every single president of the US has been in a fraternity, and something liek 75% of Congress is an alumni to a fraternity or sorority.

But the first year kicks ass. You have to be crazy. Wage war on the jerkoff RA's. Wage war ont he buildign. Become legendary. When its 30 degrees and raining out go into the parking lot with a slip and slide. Dont be afraid to do risky or stupid shit. They wont kick you out. Good Luck!

Well this october, i'll be staying at the college apartment too!!!!It's 35 minutes away from where i'm staying now. That time i won't be using my bimmer because fear of the car will be vandalized by somebody.I'm using the Mitsubhishi Diamante.I won't be surfing UB or the internet at that time. .My mom is used to it because I stayed at the hostel dorm for 2 years. That was in High school tho...long long ago..
