What's behind pimp my ride?
 

Hey guys, I been wondering who actually pays for ALL the HUGE amounts of money that goes into those cars at "pimp my ride"....

Any ideas?

If television works the same as the film industry than most likely the producer.

EDIT: Actually, MTV would most likely be the source of the production costs.

All of the goodies and services that go into the car are paid for by the vendor/manufacturer as a "Promotional Fee". That probably includes cash to the producers as well.

All of the game shows work that way too. The show buys nothing for its prizes. All are provided for the advertising value.

also, i believe the show has commercials in between, and they are being paid to air those commercials.. a lot

actually. it would be viacom.. they're the ones that own MTV, VH1, and nickelodeon. they pay for labor. the actual parts are probably free. but they most likely pay for the labor on the cars. (west coast customs doesn't cater to the crowd that gets their rides pimped, so they're not going to give away free labor... they have a shop to run.

I wonder how much they would charge to make me some fully electrical//heated vader seats with memory foam

They had a guy bring in his Enzo for new custom made rims cause he didnt like the stock ones. Funny thing is the guy was from Canada and hes like the only one in the world to do that.

i watch that show for two reasons 1, they do some cool shit to some shitty cars. 3) i love when the pimpees walk through the parking lot, "makes my peepee go da doing doing doing"

I noticed an Enzo on the ramps in one episode and wondered " what the fuck could west coast be doing to an enzo?" - guess you've just answered that.
