NCAA bans use of american indian names
the ban only affects the use of the names in postseason tournamnets. So it basically affects all sports but fotball because there is no NCAA postseason tournament or playoffs for football. (BCS and bowl games are not connected to NCAA) http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=2125735 i think this is crap. so schools like FSU can be the seminoles for football and most of every sports seasons, but as soon as playoffs come around, you have to change your schools name AND mascot (as Mascots are subject to the rule as well)
