the sad thing is, with that paint job. the first thing i notice is the roundel on the back because its the only thing that's not screwed up and painted with leftover paint from the hippie era.....

Yep the MET use some e39's and the ARV's (Armed Response Units) use X5's. Occasionally there is the odd e46 too.

I guess it's down to price really - I know I can import a UK spec range Rover from Holland for aboout £8000 less than I can buy one from here where they are made - They don't call it Rip Off Britain for mothing. Plus The jags and Range rovers won't hang with the BMW's so won't give them the edge they need.

The normal police use almost anything - each force buys their own fleet according to their preferences/budget so we have anything from fords, vaushalls, VW's to Volvo's - but the people we are talking about need to get where thay are going and get there quick + all their equipment. I guess you can fit a lot of Glocks an Uzis in the boot of a 540!!!

Oh i see!!BTW I 've read a magazine article at the book store, where these BMW police cars were retired after 120 000mile mark.They will be auction off to the public.I really like the new Rangie!!Hehe

Do they still use range rovers a lot in Britain, when I lived there they used those and volvo estate cars a lot.

actually...i don't think rover exists anymore.... there was an article about it or something in the newspaper that was delivered to my room every morning when i was tehre.
