Well my mother went in to the hospital yesterday and they put radioactive stuff in her - scaned her today and they think their fears are right that my mom may have thyroid cancer...

Sorry to hear that.
My mom is a breast cancer survivor, and was given 4 months to live initially...that was 11 years ago. Medicine is always advancing, so keep your head up and be as supportive as she needs you to be.

my ex's mother had thyroid cancer. its not fatal pretty much. they usually cut out the thyroid gland and you just take a pill once a day for the rest of your life and chemo every six months for the first two years. all that may sound bad, but it's really not.
