I'm considering getting a new watch... but this isn't one of those things I can be impulsive about. heh
That's a Day-Date model... one of the Oyster Perpetual line, so there's no batteries.
What do you guys think about it? I kinda like the monotone silver style over the more flashy designs with gold and such. The silver looks simple and elegant rather than flashy and old. That's my take on it anyway.
I'm probably going to be purchasing it in the next day or so if I don't find another than stands out. I kinda like the Air-King in silver with a light blue face, but that's quite a bit more expensive.

There is actually a nicer looking one. One of the brand new models. I tried it on last week and loved it. It's all silver as well, I think it was around $3920. How much is this one you're lookin at?

Pretty cool looking watch. I myself don't really worry about how my watch looks like, as long as it is works (and dosn't require its own zip code).

OK I found it. This watch is sweet. Go to http://www.rolex.com/ and click on "Collections", then click on "Oyster Professional" and then click on the explorer. It is actually stainless steel with a black face. The store I was looking at it was asking $3750 (I just called them) Not sure if it is in your price range but if it is, you shoould definitely buy it.
that is a great looking watch harry. But I think it looks a little oldish for you. I think you could find something that would fit a younger personality style a little better.

That watch you speak of costs just about what i paid for my car.
Puts how important a stupid watch is in persepective dont it?
Im not flaming but, honestly why do you NEED a 4 grand watch? What does it do that other 20 dollar watches at walmart dont do?

i agree with c4talyst on that. my watch i got for $10 and its lasted longer than a watch that my uncle gave me that was worth $150
Arent u 18 harry? cause if i was walking around with a $4000 watch at 18 id be mugged so easlily, or someone would think i stole it. people i know still cant belive i bought a BMW, somedude thought i actualey stole it. So a watch like that may not be a wise investment till ur older
I'm not worried at all about theft or being mugged. My town is a pretty safe area, haha.
And yes I'm 18, which is why I'm looking at the silver style over the gold, as I think the gold looks too "old".
Envy, that watch looks nice, but I'm not a big fan of the round shape on the hour hand, I like the simple style of the datejust. Plus the explorer is a bit more than what I want to spend.
And for those comparing it to a $20 watch at walmart... there's something to be said for brand quality. It's an investment, and when I decide to upgrade to something different, I'll be able to get nearly what I paid for it. I'm a big believer in quality over quantity, which is also why I have oakleys rather than $20 walmart glasses.... I think a few more of you can relate with me there.
I started this thread not to talk about the money of it, but the style. I asked a question of how you guys like the look or style, that's it. Do you?
