Just FYI, anytime you think of something you love or hate about another forum, let me know. United was built to be the best parts of everything else out there, and we're always open for suggestions to improve.

Bf.c does not suck, a forum that active provides so much information that all of your questions have already been asked and answered.

You suck at the internet.
Maybe, but we all did at one time or another BTW Torque, I love the new sig!

BF.c is definitely a great resource for info. But I think some of those people forget where they came from. A few are especially hard on newbies, to the point of being sarcastic and condescending. I can understand how frustrated they get when the same questions are asked constantly, making the search function less efficient and useless. Or when someone posts a query on the wrong forum topic.

But people will always do that, it's just fact, and belittling them doesn't serve anyone's purpose. You can't socially re-engineer people to do the right thing, and coming off like a hitman waiting to pounce doesn't help. When a person has to start their post by saying " . . I searched the threads and couldn't find this . . " for fear of being slammed, then something is not right. Some of those guys just need to clam up and let the moderators do their job. Or maybe they need better / more moderators to handle the load. I don't know, but I just don't feel the love over there . . There must be a better way to resolve these issues.

Every forum ends up with those who just pop in, can't find the search button or just can't be bothered. Ask the same question as the last 3 topics because they can't read or again can't be bothered.

Then the first answer is always from one of the smartasses that couldn't ignore a new post(er) even if they have no clue what it is about. So some form of "Did you SEARCH Dummy?" are the first words a poster sees as an answer. Hostility follows.

"REPOST" is at about the same level of friendly too.

And then the search sooner or later yield 12 pages of "Did you SEARCH Dummy?" with only a few useful hits.

When I send an 8 owner from another forum to the 8 forum on Roadfly with a question, my reply is usually directed to the search page instead of the forum.
I have found that to work better but not always perfectly.
Sometimes I have to link to a Search Results page to get them started on the right path.

I personally search first mostly because I enjoy sifting thru the BS for Nuggets I can use later. It also lets you know the level of technical capability of the Forum members by the quality of the answers. If all are BS guesses then I can ignore the Tech side of it (OR become the Voice Of Reason)

Probably because you don't know the difference between 'there' and 'their'.

Okay the mod got back to me and told me about my bandwith and such....

but nevertheless that website is too stuffed and overloaded with useless angry traffic.

Also that color scheme is a little drab WW2-dungeon for me......
not that I want pink or anything fruity...but a nice clean bright friendly color would have been nice!

That olive and brown is dank and probably why the members are aggressive and angry most of the time....

one of the the MOd's Sig reads in big red and bold letters "DO NOT PM ME EVER".
....What the Fcuk is that about?

They might as well put up a "GO AWAY-PENIS/TESTOSTERONE PARTY IN PROGRESS" sign on the home page...

anyway...i take back waht i said earlier...i was mad at the site

...but i still think that site is not user friendly at all...

even though the member's there all got the nicest BMWs I've even seen and the DIYs is tops! But it's not a place for friendly chat!

Did you try the Light color scheme ?

lower left hand corner-way down at the bottom where it says Default in the box
