There is no way I would get that. I mean, if someone spots it in a big parking lot, how long will the window last? A car alarm won't help. They go off all the time!
Making a shift knob out of the most expensive metal in the world is pretty asinine. But then, when my car was in the shop, there was a Roller there needing rear brakes. How much you ask? $2.000 each side!
The Metal is worth $48,000 so the rest is machining labor?
What labor? Throw a blank on the lathe, tool it, then cut off one end to drill the shaft hole. Drill & tap for the set screw, cut off the other end. Sand, buff and polish. That would take me less than an hour, with the proper machinery of course. Not everyone can do this, but it sure ain't worth 27 grand in labor. What a joke, it's not even ergonomically shaped.
