Here's another trick . . you know the 3 tones you hear when you've called a number not in service or has been disconnected? It's followed by the message ( . . the number you have reached, . . ) Record the tones, and place it before your greeting message on your answering machine or voicemail. Most telemarketers use automated machines to dial phone numbers. If they hear this tone, they automatically disconnect, and many of them take the dialed number off their list.

Great ideas! I must be lucky, I get no telemarketer calls :rock

Lately I've been including threats and angry language whenever I answer. They don't seem to ever call after that.

Like "I am going to eat your fuckin' children if you ever call back you moronic dickheaded bitch. Fuck off."

no the best way is is this......

Awnser the phone and when they tell u what there selling be like "sure, ill buy w/e u got, but u have to send it to my new adress. The Wardens office,Maximum security wing, Attica pennetentiary, Attica NY"

OR

when they call be like "this nice officer next to me has advised me to tell u that this call is being monitered. now what drugs did u say u were selling?"

they wont call for a while after that

I signed up a year ago or so. I still get some calls but most of the time I just don't answer them.

one time i was reading the comics and the person answers a phone to the telemarketer, he says:

Sir, i have to transfer you to you answering machine. Please leave a message after the click.

and i got this from maddox

if they send you any crap about credit card, and they have a return envelope, rip it all up, put it in the return envelope and send it back, they will stop... lol AARP started sending me for some reason so i did it to them and they stopped

also, my answer machine message is as follows

Hello, hello? ..beep

witeshark 06-14-2005 07:45 PM

Or you could answer unknown numbers acting like a store, like how can I help you? :lol

bmw4life 06-14-2005 07:47 PM

:uphaha good idea I might just do that the next time a telemarketer calls.

I just showed it to my dad and he said he was the first person to sign up in Delaware. He sometimes answers them and asks them questions.

I don't list my number and that has been working for a while
