Old law (OMG)

During a conversation earlier, I found out that there was a time that there was no turn on red anywhere Yup. On red, even in a right turn, you had to wait for the light to go! Can you believe that?

Yeah it's exit 15 off the LIE/495 West when you drive into Queens towards Manhhattan. The last exit before the midtown tunnel/ as you turn to get onto the street that takes you to the Queens Boro brigde.

The other one is the Woodhaven Blvd exit off the LIE/495 East also in Queens.
That is the only 2 I've ever seen.

People around here either don't know that you can't turn left on red or refuse to accept it, but you see them turning all the time.

One time some douche was honking at me to go left on red. I swear if he honked again I would have dragged him out the window and beat him to death.

Left turn on red could only be in the case of right hand driven cars, driving on the left side of the road. Right turn on red in US is about the curb side turn that shouldn't need to wait for green if traffic is clear. Just to clear things up.

Left turn on red is from a one-way streeet onto another one-way going to the left.

I remember when there was no legal right on red anywhere

Then when it started to spread around the country you had to try to remember if it was Legal where you were before you were ticketed or run over from behind

I remember when drivers actually Stopped before turning too

exactly you can turn left on red on a one-way street.

but that would drive me fucking crazy, late night, just wanting to get to where I'm going and have to wait to make a right turn. CRAZY
