I checked on my Touring for the first time in 3 months.
She's been sitting on the drive for the whole time, and in spite of the wet weather the brake discs aren't even rusty (thanks Brembo!). Yesterday, I needed to push her a bit away from the garage door to get some stuff out. Turned out the central locking wasn't working. So yeah, the first thought proved true, batterie's dead. So I hoocked up the charger and let her sit for about 24 hours. This evening I checked the car out again, removed the charger, vacuumed out the engine bay (the storms pushed in quite a lot of leaves, and I don't want them to keep the moisture in there). I then turned on the ignition to check the electrical system, (didn't start him up, tho) and everything is working. Exept the frost killed my aux-cable, but that's okay
so I guess tomorrow or whenever my bro's not watching (he's home for the weekend and doesn't want me to drive the car since the plates r turned in) I'll go to a private road around the corner to have her run a bit. Just to check out everything, get the bit of rust off the breaks and straighten out the tires.
Then she'll go back into the drive to wait till April when I'll registrate her again
glad to hear the car is running. its always good to run her a bit. When i first got the 318 it sat in the driveway for a year before i got my license. once a week i started her up and made sure everything worked.
btw you need to take more pictures of that piece of art. I love touring E30's.

elsabor, .... that's the very first day of pentecost vacation...and also Karlsruhe is where I want to go to University... I'm definetly going! Thanks a lot for telling me... nice new sig btw
Numark, I'm def. going to have another photo shoot, I've already looked out some perfect spots... bad thing we don't have a lot of industry around here but I found some nice backgrounds already
I got smileys in my garage but I don't like eh that much
afaik the light output isn't a lot better
btw I'm just back from driving her.
Feels like pure sex. NOw I know what I missed the whole time...
She purrs like a kitten, and you hardly notice the standing time. Exept the servo is kinda hard so I think I need to change the servo oil, (servo=power steering) and the first gear feels kinda odd to me
brakes pack like ever... I hardly know any cars the same price stopping this good
anyways e30 FTMTW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait registrating her again!!!!!!
anyone knows what else I oughta check out after the car's been standing all the time?
check the door seals to make sure water isnt leaking in somewhere and causing rust damage. Like the trunk. (happened to me) although u have a touring so it might be different.
make sure all the windows roll down. The contacts in my switches have seemed to collect some carbon build up from sitting?(didnt drive her for 6 months) making it somewhat difficult to open the windows at times.
