Parents Beware of Drifting and "Auto-tag"

Large Picture Link

That article is hilarious.

Anyone know what auto-tag is though? I've never heard of it.

I started driving in the mid 50's. Didn't get my licence until '59 though

We had some fun things that we did with cars that were influenced by the James Dean movies among others.

Suicide Drags--about an 1/8 mile downhill on a 2 lane road into a 1 lane bridge Never lost Had to wait for a few slow ones so we were neck and neck where it squeezed down Looking over and Grinning at that point usually caused their brake lights to come on abruptly

Car Flying before they smoothed out all the roller coaster bumps on country roads to keep us from killing ourselves. Airborne at 105 was COOL!!! Add in 4 or 5 Screaming people in the car with you and it was REALLY COOL!!!! And then we get to do it again on the NEXT ONE!!!

And you thought it was just Your Generation that was Crazy?

The sad thing is thats not even a joke.

That shit really pisses me off, insurance companies like geico are just looking for any possible way to get out of paying claims. Basically what they are trying to do is make it legal for them to not pay claims after an accident if they find performance parts on your car that you havent notified them about.

Not only is it just a fucking sleezy thing to do, but its profiling and it will cause people that 'modify' their car to be placed in a category where they MUST be street racers.

So basically if i get coilovers or something so i can do some autox events and eventually DE's, then some fuck hit and runs me while im under full covereage, they wont pay the claim because im a street racer.

As long as we have INSURANCE COMPANIES and (vs) DRIVERS there will be a constant motion on the part of the insurance companies to point out a segment of drivers as THE REASON YOUR RATES ARE HIGHER.
Peer or Parent pressures are raised followed by the rates of that segment "Because it isn't fair that Others have to subsidize YOU!!"

Then the insurance companies pick out another segment as the Reason and...........

I think that this has been going on as long as both have co-existed.

its articles like that that take no consideration into the people that know what they are doing and do things to their cars for show rather then to be retarded. reading stuff like that gets me so aggravated because the ymake what we do sound so incredibly 'terrifing at dangerously high speeds, where a teenager would have so little experiance in what they are doing',

pardon my french but 'FUCK REPORTERS THAT BRING DOWN ILLEGAL 'STREET RACING'"

Sorry, I forgot we have you on here.

Most don't know crap about driving... they all get themselves a Crown Vic, Grand Marquis or LeSabre and become drive-impaired morons.

Props to you for being a true driver at your age.

TerryY will be 62 in September.

I was slow to start baby-making and so were my kids so my oldest grandkids are only in their teens. Youngest of my kids will be 32 in July.
