mine's at 1200 Euros a year, that's 1800 $.
Yeah. It sucks. It's because I'm 18, and my car has way too much power. Also, you're on probation for the first two years of driving. In that time, if you get caught speeding over 20 km/h outside town limits or I think 15 inside, or just any traffic violation that'll get you a point in the traffic offender index, you'll have to go to a special training for another 600 bucks.
Luckily, I've evaded any police controls yet...

Damn, you guys have it nice! When I bought my first bimmer my yearly premium was in the region of $3,000 on a 318is.
I was 20 at the time. (Several) years later and I'm paying alot less.

Because insurance is so damn high here, it's unusual to see younger drivers with a bimmer, or if they have one, it's usually a beater with a 1.6 engine.

For the 318, I pay about $584/ six months for liability & acts of god.

For the bike, it's about $211 for a year, liability only.

I have two speeding tickets for 5 points though.

Wow, that is a huge amount for an M3 when you've been driving for that amount of time. Dread to think what kind of quote they'd throw at me for an M3...will keep to the lowly 1.9 for now.

For my 1986 325 it's about $1,700 a year for minimum coverage, without collision, etc.

when living in N. Ireland you have a very small amount of insurance providers 90% of the big English firms stay away and the ones that do come run a mile when you say M3

^Question about that, I have been thinking about that for my e30 but I still want to be able to drive it to work some, can I do that or is it frowned upon.
