Hoppy is sober... and sick
 

so iv been sick for a month and then some, now im not one to do Doctor visits. i hate them 99% of the time i walk in there, say " i have X and need Y medicine" they give me some shit about how they are the Doctor, and they will decide that. 20 minutes later they only prove me right. i laugh as they act embaressed and go on my way.
freshman year i had an ear infection. went to health services and was like "i have an ear infection and need amoxicillin"
they gave me the "im the doc il deside that"
looked in my ear and goes " shit. how are you still able to stand?!"
needless to say i got my amoxicillin

well i noticed my sore throat had gained some friends. swollen glands! so i went to health services. said " i have mono. i know you cant give me any medicine, but id like a blood test"
i got the Il be the judge of that

5 minutes later... yup iv got mono.

the girl is PISSED. she might have it, and leaves for a semester abroad friday... :bash

Seriously though, i hope you feel better soon. Mono sucks. And hopefully said female still gets to enjoy her semester abroad.

Scotland. thanks for the well wishes. hopefully i got the worse behind me. just sucks i cant even give a proper goodbye.... im not sure if shes sick or not. cause iv been feeling it for a while. and she hasnt. so she may be one of the people who doesnt feel the symptoms. hopefully.

Hoppy feel better, my sister has mono right now too and I know a few people who have had it, I feel you with the doctor I have several times gone in and said this is what's wrong with me please give me x.

Well, mono sucks but its kind of a blessing in disguise, at least you didn't catch an STD from her. :clap That would suck.

well its one way to think positive. i awoke at like 3 am. sweating balls. was thinking to myself. 6 hours of breathing in will have dried out my throat. so i prepared for the worst. got ready to swallow some gatorade. and..... BAM! didnt hurt at all. i feel much better today. so hopefully im on the mend. it barely hurts to eat or drink.

I'm not too smart with the illnesses, what's mono:confused Hope you get better.

ooooo, ooooo, oh man I just got burned.

ebstein Barr virus. its transmitted through saliva. kissing, sharing drinks etc. it can last any where to excess of 2 months. though some people will never feel symptoms. swollen lymph glads ( in neck) sore throat, fever, fatigue. its just a real nasty, real long lasting sore throat. your splien and liver can swell as they try to help the glands get the bad shit out. my splien is a little swollen right now, was alot worse a little while ago. im pretty sure my liver is eith so tough its laughing at the rest of me and saying "call me when you get aids." or my liver is dead...

many people think mono keeps you bed ridden for weeks and is super contagious. and its just not.
