Country isn't my favorite but if there is a good country song I'll listen to it.....Rascal Flats did a song with Brian McKnight called Red,White, and Blue and it is one of my favorite songs right now. If you haven't heard it before you need to go look it up and give it a listen....very touching song.
^^^ haha, my favorite country song is Alan jackson, chattahoochie (sp?).
let me restate my answer to this thread. CLIFF NOTES available at bottom of post.
i used to be strictly hip hop with my favorite artist being 2pac. i also listened to:
afrika bambaataa
bone thugs
craig mack
dmx
dre
eminem
geto bots
wu tang
ice cube
ja rule (only his first album)
method man
nas
mobb deep
naughty
outkast
queen latifah
Public enemy
rakim
snoop
warren g
etc. . .
but then i found classical music and how settling it was, so i started listening to beethoven, vivaldi, copland, etc.
around the same time hip hop started licking balls. most of todays hip hop sucks with weak rhymes and terrible artists who are just cashing in. sometimes the only thing that carries todays hip hop is the beat. so i bar most of todays hip hop, but there are some with the occasional goods.
if you like hip hop, i recommend two current artists in fort minor (w. mike shinoda from linkin park) and Brother Ali. they have the older style and actually have the best rhymes today.
because of the lack of current hip hop i listen to a lot of rock and alternative too. yup, the terrible hip hop out there made me do it, an a lot of it is good. this includes a lot of female artists that i wont mention for risk of being flamed and also:
linkin park
the fray
blink
counting crows
coldplay
creed
evanescence
goo goo
green day
matchbox 20
nickleback
staind
etc, etc.
some of those are older, but its better than listening to todays hip hop. in fact, i would rather gouge my eyes out with a dull stick than listen to "this is why im hot, im hot because im fly, you aint coz you not." wtf kinda lyric is that?
