You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

I suppose that I feel the need to get my 2 cents in on initial impressions of our little set to here.

I was quite close to deleting my bookmark to UB about the time this was all at the boiling point.

As background. I am a mod on the international E31 site and a fairly heavy technical poster on the 8 Series where ever you go. Always with the same TerryY screen name.

Not even having posted in the high temperature threads, I felt attacked by rather heavy handed moderating. I saw a lot of "I am the Hammer! Do you want to be the Nail?" attitude expressed over a resistance to change--not of the site but of the attitude and rules that we all lived by being ground under someone we didn't knows heel.

I don't think that anyone here would object to changes in the forum on the technical level. Harry tinkered a lot up front and we all got to voice opinions without any stress even if it didn't go our way.

But changes in the "Moral values" were way too sudden and drastic with the W&P section addition and having the first couple of posts insulting and pounded down our throats.

You should have started with opening the forum with a sticky outlining the rules. Then let one of US do the first post - even if you had to encourage one of us to start.

As it was the first post was religion and not politics. Jews vs Moslem's as interpreted by Christians (and others). That is sure to pump up emotions on an international forum.

I am still in wait and see mode but at least it seems to have calmed down at least for now. So I will stay and watch.

I do think that C1apton and a few others are due a personal apology though. They were treated rather roughly for defending their Forum.
