Enjoy yourselves this weekend.

And when you have some time, say a prayer for the ones that are across the pond in the heat and headaches that can't enjoy this weekend .

^^^Ya, but let's not forget that Memorial day is not for the men & women currently serving. It's to honor those who died in service to this country, which goes all the way back to the Civil War

I myself will try and relax this weekend; it's been a tough couple of weeks for me at work . .

I will not work on the car this weekend.
I will not work on the car this weekend.
I will not work on the car this weekend.
I will not work on the car this weekend.

It was originally known as Decoration Day, and was started at the time of the Civil War to honor fallen Union soldiers. I wasn't saying that any war previous to that or after didn't apply; over time it encompassed anyone who died in any war for the US

yeah, c1apton, and evidently i'm not it

so memorial day is a stinkin yankee holiday? well that's certainly a killbuzz. i guess since it encompasses ANY war i can celebrate it in honor of all but the civil. and maybe in honor of the civil from the perspective that those who died did so fighting for what they believed in. that's better!

hey I wasn't dis'g you or Dskys' knowledge - not at all. It's actually pretty decent when members share other knowledge here. Discussion is a good thing as long as it isn't blah blah knucklehead ramblings.

You've never delved into the depths of live audio (sound reinforcement) and listened to boneheads vs techno-gearheads argue db > amperage ratings for stadium coverage. It makes blood shoot out of my eyes listening to guys who know ABSOLUTELY nothing but theory and have never applied it to actual circumstance. I had 1 guy tell me temperature & distance made no difference for balanced audio performance in an open air stadium. As I'm sitting at the mix position in the Cotton Bowl surrounded by 60k+ fans in 95 defree heat - he told me it was the same as an 18k arena. "Oh OK, then I'll just leave 9 semi trucks of gear parked out in the lot - thanks for the tip - I'll let the JBL Vertek people know of the discovery - thanks, you DICKHEAD" (sorry about the size - I'm too tired to F$^# with it)

that's why I like UB, real folks w/real topics and good info and the occassional sidetrack.

oh i know you weren't insulting us, i just thought it was funny that you made that comment and then d'sky showed me up.

ugh, that DOES sound awful. any idiot should know that temp & distance matter, even without extensive audio knowledge (temp being a measure of kinetic energy of particles, sound being how we perceive collisions of particles; speed having a certain speed and therefore a certain distance it can travel in a certain amount of time). and even if they didn't know...argh, like you said, people who know nothing should shut up, and people who know a little something should be careful and realize their limits.
