chris: yes, the m3 is 12 years old, but her 318 is even older, so i dont think the age thing really makes a difference(other than the fact that she knows her car inside out)

and let me tell yout he deal here, m3turbopower

people on this forum are lazy, im lazy, well, everyone is lazy, and really, we never like to take the time to spend the extra few seconds to interpret your post when we could use them for something else (seriously though, men hate wasting time)

All Im saying is that it doesn't make sense to get rid of a car you know the history of already and already did the preventive maintenance on for a car with 175k miles thats 12 years old when you're going to turn around in a couple years when you get out of school and buy a brand new one or at least late model one anyway. Being a college student, I'm sure there are better things to spend that money on than a car.

But hey, you don't have to listen, its your money, do what you will with it. I'm just voicing my opinion.

^^^ Very true Chris. However, the man who we bought it from just replaced the water pump, radiator, A/C condenser and had new fuel injectors and spark plugs put in it. He has spent about $5000 on things that would need to be replaced at this time in the car's life. It really seems like it is in better condition than my car (which is not starting up like it used to ) and it runs much smoother than my car. It's aligned perfectly and there is no steering wheel shake as there is in my car. The only thing that we have found that it needs is a new wheel bearing (maybe? I haven't heard it yet, I'm just going off my cousin on that one) and it will need a new clutch. And I'm not going to lie, I kind of want to pull a transmission. Granted, it might suck a lot, but I love working on cars.

Sure there are better things to spend my money on, but if I don't buy this car because it actually is a piece of crap... I'll keep my current one and buy a motorcycle too. So, for me, it's almost a win-win situation. M3 or a 318is + GS500E.
