Well in my eyes, the 318 is paid for. you could blow your wad on a mediocre M3 now, or wait a bit and buy an awesome M3 later. Primal instincts say get the M3 now, cause its gratifying now, but waiting is going to be the better long term investment decision.

Yeah, Chris explains this well. I'm still on the fence for selling my car and getting an high mileage e36 M3 but the 323i is all fixed and runs great, I'm leaning towards not selling until after school for this reason alone. Sure the M3 will be more fun but your 318 is going to be a lot easier on you headache wise. Question is would you like a really fun car that may or may not get you were your going or would you like a 318 (still fun ) that you know you can count on.

My cousin has been driving it for the week and he really likes it. He'd just as soon keep the car and put a new clutch and wheel bearing in it before selling it to me. But, if I want it, it's mine. I really can't wait until Wednesday.

right, sorry i wasn't clear. i meant more expensive to maintain. sorry for the mix-up. and if it is just a tiny bit more per service, you may just be lucky. it also may have to do with people who own Ms doing more spirited driving than non-M owners and therefore their cars would be more expensive to maintain.

MTurboPower, i will provide you with a surefire way to avoid this problem you've run into.

Step 1: Type what comes to mind.
Step 2: Delete it all.
Step 3: Type something that makes sense.
Step 4: Reread it and make sure that it doesn't sound stupid. Pay close attention to how you think others may react. Revise accordingly.
Step 5: Have someone else check your punctuation, because you must not know the english language and how to use it.

trust me, your posts will turn out much better.

^because they don't know english either.

you type whatever you want? we noticed

the only reason it bothers me is because it is hard to tell what you are saying. why not just take the extra effort to make what you are saying clear for those who read it? and besides, americans complain all the time about how people who move to america should learn english, yet those of us who were born here don't use proper english! just write correctly. it really isn't that hard.

btw, it IS good to know that you at least have a sense of humor.

Anal doesn't have an "e" at the end in the english vocabulary .

And honestly, in a sense it does. When you use the proper punctuactions and commas and what not, people can understand what you want to say. When you bunch everything up, people have to break it down to see what you wrote to make sense of it. And probably some people you chat on the internet with type like you. Maybe that is why the understand you. I have to take a moment to break it down.

Amanda, when are you gonna show some pics of the M3? Please

Mturbopower3, All we're saying is that proper punctuation and language goes a long way in giving what you say some credibility. And yes, we understand that there are people on this board with english as a second language, and thats perfectly alright. BUT THERES A SPELL CHECK BUTTON ON EVERY REPLY PAGE AND THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR NOT USING IT!.

lol

this is chrisdoesntknow BTW, on my brothers slow-ass machine and it takes too much effort to log out and log in on my name.

I don't have any pics today, maybe in a few days. The car is in Cape Girardaeu (sp?) for at least today and maybe tomorrow. So it's about 200 miles away.

God, I hope there is nothing major wrong with it, because I want it REAL BAD.

^^^^^^

Still think you're going to waste your money on a high mileage M3 instead of waiting till you're done with school any buying a new car. Face it, '95 M3 is now 12 years old. I know everyone here loves E36's, but getting rid of a perfectly good 318 on a high mileage 12 year old car seems like a bad investment to me. Save your money for something better and newer.

I know its your dream car and all, but that doesn't make it a good investment.
