Interesting insight into something small.

Anyway no less than 30 minutes ago I was sitting in a chair and this yellow jacket had gotten inside. I didn't feel like getting up to kill it but it wasn't being THAT annoying. So anywho, I put my hand on my knee and it was under my hand, started flapping its wings against my hand. I just went, "ugh!" and brushed it off. Okay now it had my attention. I get up and grab the swatter. I mute the T.V. and freeze up to hear him move. I see him land on a wall lamp. *WHAP* between the swatter and the lamp ring the yellow jacket is cut in half. I just froze and stared at it for a second. There was some spider webbing on the lamp and the yellow jacket's lower half was hanging there and he still had all his legs intact and then he grabbed his lower half and pulled it up. I just thought to myself, "Dammit, how horrible would that be?". I finished him off to put him out of his misery. How do we justify life? Does its size or shape matter? Sure it was just a bug, but who are we to judge what is and is not small and insignificant? If our existence was considered bug like to some other being, would it never think twice about destroying us? Does our ability to reason matter? Is that what separates us?

hahaha do you know did u ever piss off a sleeping grizzly?

RSF5 04-14-2007 01:51 PM

but. if i have a giant gun. the grizzly is going down. our ability to reason means we can make giant guns to stay on top.

How significant is a human being, or human existence? Honestly, I think that we are as a whole, a parasite.....
I don't hate other people at all, it's just that, we are ridiculous.

Screw it though, we will continue to tear down millions of trees to build more homes, pollute the Earth with our daily trash, destroy canyons to build more roads, pump out harmful gas into the atmosphere, contaminate the ocean with harmful waste, slowly killing off life on Earth....

I believe humans were either put on Earth to destroy it, or that our intelligence was a mistake... If we were much less intelligent, then maybe we wouldn't be able to develop such technology to bring us to todays society... that is if we are of a design by a higher being.

I wish that humans or at least modern society wasn't as induced with greed nor as wasteful, but what can you do.... Just have to deal.

RSF5 04-15-2007 01:26 AM

^^^ But we also have the intelligence and ability to stop that.

MTurboPower3 04-15-2007 12:10 PM

wow that was deep i never thought about human existance and stuff like that

when something bigger and better comes along (zombies), we too will be killed. and on that day the only thing that will be to our benifit, is our brains. and all the moonbats will be kicking themselves for restricting guns!

We actually have the intelligence to stop and even fix most of the damage we've done. What stands in the way is American apathy, politics and the lack of funding (we have the largest deficit in American history right now).

The way to justify it is - it was in your home. I'll be honest, when I am outside I try not to kill things unless they are a direct threat to me. Inside the home is a little different, though.
