They should seriously think about permanently coloring certain roads. I know around here, some roads come to an odd intersection and you can't tell which road goes which way. Having them color coded would be interesting and convient.

Good idea, but I'm not so sure people would get it. That's how much faith I have in the average driver . . . you already don't need to speak or read English to acquire a DL :lol

Driving on paint would suck, too slippery.

doughboyea 04-21-2007 05:35 PM

You wouldn't go and use paint, gotta use something in the actual surface course. The paint, aside from being slippery, like nick said, would also fad very quickly. It would have to be a dye in the actual material before it's laid on the ground.

Here's a little experiment, take food coloring (anything u want) mix up some concrete, pour in that coloring, and bam, you got yourself long lasting colored walkway, patio or what have you. (Neighbor did it in his garden, green paths to make it blend in).

I-75 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is red brown every spring.

It was really unique with the bright lines painted on it.

The local sand is really high in Iron and when they salt the roads the pavement actually rusts.
