O2 Sensor Harness anyone?

Sorry for sticking this in the Lounge, but I wanna offer this up only for members.

Some of you may have read my whole engine problem fiasco the last couple of weeks . . I ended up going through a couple of O2 sensors while troubleshooting, and each time they got fouled and destroyed. But I did save 3 harnesses from the sensor side, with the BMW connector attached. These are handy if you wanna save some money and get the cheaper Ford or generic 4-wire O2 sensors; all you do is wire it up to this harness, and the assembly will connect right up.

AFAIK, these are direct fit for E36/M50/OBDI, and I'm not sure about OBDII sensors or any other BMW; you'll have to figure that out yourself. Anyone interested, send me a PM and I'll send one out free, unless you're out of the country- then you'll have to pay shipping. I only have two, so 1st come 1st served

I have no idea if my car has the original o2 sensors. I have 135k so I might want to do them soon?

Well, you figure the sensors last about 50-70k on average. You may be on your 2nd set. OBD will tell you if they're bad. If you do change them, get the special socket from Pep Boys . . 7/8" or 22mm, same thing. About 10 bucks. But you'll need it- they're a biatch to get off w/o it.

My bro has an O2 sensor socket, so I assume it is the same size. I haven't had any codes, so perhaps I am on the 2nd set.

ALL OUT THERE - comments please

I want to buy the cheap generic 4 wire O2 sensors, and solder them up
to this BMW wire. Any reason I should not???

I prefer to pay $25 for a generic 4-wire instead of $80 for one
soldered up for me.

Your 2 cents appreciated.
