When ripping a torrent into an AVI, is it always incredibly slow?

It took me close to a day to get one Top Gear. :(

Depends on how many people have it and then help distribute it as to how fast you will get it, took me a while but i paused the download for a few hours accidently and lost my internet for a few hours, otherwise i would have gotten it in about 6 hours.
