yeah that movie is really interesting! Too bad the car was killed for no apparent reason. And the funny thing is that the GM CEO Wagoner regrets pulling the plug on the project. dumbass.
they were cool little machines. I am sure they could be redesigned and look and fit todays world and be really successful

that's the thing, it talks all about how Hydrogen is NOT a good alternative fuel source. Too hard to gather, and too expensive. Electricity is cheap. To charge an electric car, it works out to about 60 CENTS per gallon, beat that!

I think hydrogen will get to a point where its easier and easier to produce in the quanities that would be needed at a cheaper cost before long. The other problem is how to store and deliver it to a fueling station, or do you have on site generating capabilities.
there is a company that was working on the technology to release hydrogen chemically using little pellets which dissolved in water, since the chemical is fairly inert it is an ideal way to store it for shipping and refueling, I can't remember the company but I would look for something of that nature in the future.
There is also steam reformation which will take a hydrocarbon and through heat spin off some of the hydrogen, but I can't see a positive here since you have to start with a hydrocarbon.
to sum it all up, it is a problem which can definately be solved and when it is it may be a viable alternative.

ok, maybe hydrogen would work in the future. but electricity is here today and now. you can go 200 miles on a single charge, it is incredibly cheap, doesnt require many parts. and service is a breeze because it's just batteries and a motor, not the complications of petroleum engines.
