UUC lowering springs.
I didnt want to get springs bec. of the harsh ride and the fact that H@R etc. would throw off my suspension with the stiffness of the aftermarket springs on stock struts, so I was going to wait a year until I ran into UUC's lowering springs. They say they are callibrated to run with my suspension etc. Has anyone tried these? They look like they are good buy until i get my struts next year.

I looked into those, and they look great, but I searched a lot, and they do drop the car 1.6" that's a pretty harsh drop.... meaning I doubt your car will be anywhere as comfortable as OE...
EDIT: Read the follwing thread, there is a lot of info on dropping a car...

with 255/35/18's am pretty sure you would have to roll the fenders to probably 30 degrees....

1.6 inches is a RIDICULOUS drop. stay beween 1-1.25 inches and it will still look very agressive.
What you could do is get a different brand of springs. Those UUC's would blow out your current suspension. So you dont have money quite yet to get the shocks. Well if you have your heart set on springs right away get a mroe conservative spring like H&R sports or Eibach Pro Kit. Then install them and align them> It can get expnsive to upgrade suspension. After this youll probabl blow your shocks rather quickly dependign on their current status. Then you will need new shocks. You need to go aftermakrte otherwise youll blow out a new pair of stock ones. So get aftermarket, which will be stupidly expensive. Then install again which is expensive and align.
Ultimately installaiton is what kills you and should have you motivated to do them at the same time. Plus, sport springs with stock struts isnt very safe.

thanks rooz, and 95m3, maybe you should just get adjustable springs, and keep them high until you have enough money for shocks/struts and buy those too

sounds good to me. Installs not a problem, I keep in touch with tech's, and friends who can do the installs right for cheap or nothing for me. The problem is forking over the what 4 grand for koni's on Eibach. Being an amature in suspension I had no idea you could blow your shocks so quick with a 1.6 drop. What would be ideal until I get my bilstein's or koni's?

well you could just get whatever you want, and let your shocks blow out, its just that you will have a very bump ride and you will risk damaging other things, but if you want to drop it and only have money for either springs or shocks, go with the shocks first, its not really gunna make a difference, so you might as well wait for both

"but if you want to drop it and only have money for either springs or shocks, go with the shocks first, "
Shocks dont lower your car.
To lower your car you need springs. To put afterarket sprigns with stock shocks is dangerous mainly because of the ridiuclous bouncing. Some people dont find it dangerous but i lok at it from a economical point of view. Honestly read what I posted in my previous post. Get a more conservative sport spring.

i know shocks dont lower the car, thats why i said IT WOULDNT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
to lower your car you need springs, no crap, but if you put lowering springs with aftermarket shocks it will blow your shocks because they are consantly compressed
