This was an article in Autoweek a long time ago but I just found some pictures online about it. Have you guys heard about this new wheel they're trying out?
I heard about it a long time ago. I think in time magazine. I believe it handles like shit though die to the lack of sidewall. Forces like inertia probably wont work well with this wheel.

i heard about this. it absolutely owns in a straight line..... but not at all on twisties...so its very anti Bimmer. lol. they should try the same thing but allow the flexible supports only flex vertically. thats the key to fixing those. cool concept though.... they look cool on the audi..... pimpin the 4" rims hell yeah

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

I doubt they will ever work well in handling without a sidewall unless they make them really heavy.
