Remove my rear Lower arm link
My car got towed last week and the tower hooked it from the lower arm link and caused it to bend and now my left wheel ins't straight. I tried to replace it today and was nearly done until I realized that the differential was in the way. It blocked the screw so it won't come all the way out of the arm. I wonderi f I gotta free the differrential and jack it up a little. That was my only option but It would take a long time to finish and it was getting dark so I warpped it up. I wonder if there is an easier way to remove it. Help please!!!
Heh, I know exactly what you're talking about. Those of you trying to picture this, he's referring to the inner bolt that mounts the lower control arm to the subframe. Yes, unfortunately the diff has to be unbolted; it's a bad design on BMW's part. The towing company should pay for the damages tho. For future reference, this is a common occurence. I don't know about other models, but the 3 series should never be hooked, they have to be dollied from under the wheels or flatbedded, and the towing company should have known that.
