Replacing the springs and the struts on your own
How hard is it to replace the struts and the springs and what are the special tools I might need, referal to a site with instructions would be great, or just instructions
p.s. it an e46 323ci

You can check out a DIY our own member Amanda has done.
Rear Shock replacement
Front Shock Replacement
This should be similar to the process on the e46. You would probably need to find a Spring Compressor, you can usually get one from an autoparts store as long as you leave a deposit.

additional help
I can't take off #5, I'm changig the struts and springs and it seems that a ball joint is holding #5 any hints would be great, sorry Im a newb

Suspension is a very easy job. Take it off, put it back on, torque, that's it. Good luck with the rest of it.

Spring-Strut symptoms versus RSM failure
~I have sqeaking from springs when car is parked on a incline
~I have squealing from rear in turns on low speeds also can hear the squeal when backing up
Does this sound like spings and rear shock mount or another combo of the above?
