Katrina was a strong TS as it came on shore. In north Miami, the eye came right over. The leading side gave us winds about 40 knots gusting to about 70 (been a boater for life) the trailing side was a lot more like 60 knots gusting to near 80. That means the storm deepened as it passed through us, and we all know what happened after it got out into the Gulf... The power was out for nearly 2 weeks, but Wilma was way worse!

I would say i'm glad to live in atlanta, but i'm not. Its 120 here today with the heat index . It hasn't rained in over a week and you can actually see the smog buble around the city. So its hot as hell, and you still can't breathe

heh my parents choose a great week to decide to go to the dominican republic.
unfortunately they are flyign through miami...which means their flight could get cancelled...meaning my party plans could be foiled.
lets pray to the weather gods.
