Yeah I have noticed that too. I don't know if they would want to join to many of them but I like the idea of sub-forums.

IMO, it would be so much cleaner if we had 5 series and then have 4 subforums under it (like introductions and geek chat are in the lounge)... same with the 3 series etc.

Yes, that's exactly what it should be like. Do same for 7s, and same for 'Classics' ... that should reduce the front forum page by liek 14 forums.

The most active forum is the E36,Member Lounge and Car showroom and other section has only 1 or 2 posts. It's a good idea to put them in sub forum.

I think the M3/M5 forums should be put into the appropiate model code. E36 M3s go into E36 forum, E46 m3 into e46 forum, e34 m5 into e34/5series forum and so on.. e39 blah..

Yeah the Member's Lounge could be cleaned up some too...Any the copious distribution of tiny text fonts on the front pages still bothers me some....especially the text for links, they are too close together and about 2 font sizes too small.

I'm not sure if the reason was to fit as much info on the front page as can possibly fit...but you have to think that the average browser who is new to the forum is not looking for an Encyclopedia on BMWs and they will only look for stand out key words that interests them....like E36, Delmarco, 318i, Calypso Red

no seriously...

That was my biggest appeal to BMW-Forums over BimmerForums when I first joined up...
The simplicity and organizational layout of the home/front and main pages of BMW-Forums...everything was laid out that mattered first and foremost...then you went thru pages of sub-topics if you wanted.

BimmerForums has like way too much shit on the homepage to file thru to get to where you want to go....that's a turn off...also the average teenage web browser only reads about 1 to 5% of what is on the front pagebefore finding the link they want...I think that is a good tip!

Allright, I like the renovations, but the 3 series forum split is a little more difficult to navigate since "E36" is only 3 letters wide

I say we put the years each E is made in the 3 series forums right behind the E code to make the text a little wider.

IE: E36 (92-99)
Or even the 4 digit year code...

Also, what if we smushed the regional forums down the way the 3 series is...

The M3 forums oughta be for M3 specific stuff. Yea, they have the ame chassis and those questions can go in the regular forums. (although not many people will think like that, I say it's fine)

Hum, I don't know about the year... but I do agree we need to extend the length of the name a bit to make it easier to click on.

What about "E36 Cars" or something?

And I'm not quite understanding what you guys are talking about with the M3/M5 forums... what do you think we should do with them?
