Avatar Size

Anyone object to bumping up the avatar sizes to 150x150 pixels? Right now they're set on a certain size, but the column is already wider, so there's always white-space on the right side of them. Why not make it so people can have bigger and better avatars?

Feedback?

I think it's not necessary. We all have sigs ... which are often bigger than the post itself. We don't need another huge image ...

No preference either way here.

Actually, that reminded me of a post you made a while back. Notice I just took out my mods to clear the blank space it creates under the sig. I figure it's already in the rate my car section, why have it twice? Maybe you can change "Rate My Car Rank" to something shorter like "Car Ranking" to reduce that extra space to the right?

Hum, that might not be a bad idea.

And also what do you think about taking out Join Date from the left side? There's no point in having it there, as it's rarely referenced. It's in their member profile if ever needed.

let me throw this out there...

When I had my long sig, I had a few people PM me requesting me to change the size of it, so if we expand the avatar, that might cause an issue with some of our members

^^^There is truth in what you speak. And honestly, why expand the avatar size? I don't think it looks tacky, IMO. I wouldn't change a thing.

Mmkay, good points. Avatar size stays the same.

But on a side note, what about removing the join date from the left of each post (keeping it in the member profile obviously). It's kinda clutter being rarely used.

That sounds all right. I wouldn't have any problem with that. Like you said, it would still be in the profile. Rather redundant having it in two places.

What about transferring some of that stuff to the box that opens up when you click the person's name? Are we still doing the garage idea? maybe you could add "Visit so-and-so's Garage" to that box instead of listing the mods in the left column.

removing mod's from that column sounds good. especially after the member garages are launched.

but I often find myself looking at a members join date, so I'd have to stand up against that removal.

My idea was to change your member profile to your member garage. Like hack away at vbulletin's member profile and pull all info from there at the top of your member garage. So the garage IS your page.

What do you think of that?
