Interface Switched Around
 

You guys will probably notice the forums index looks different now. It's only on the main index, no thread views or post views are changed. I kinda like the new look, it's a lot more focused and different from most forums, and after you click on the Lounge or e36 forum, or wherever you're going, it returns to full width to show the maximum amount of information on a screen without scrolling. This will also allow us to see a breakdown of how each forum in the United Cars Network is doing (post count and such).

I added the adwords. I dunno, it fills up the whitespace and helps pay for the hosting... but it might be a bit much. :( Do you guys mind it?

(note, it looks horrible on us.c, i wanna get everything working on ub first)

Would you rather not have any adwords on the side, and have a small horizontal one on the bottom of the pages? Or would you rather not have any at all, and we'll try to work it out with sponsors (but not have much money left over for advertising).

REMEMBER: All money brought in from sponsors AND google adwords, go first to pay the server bills, then what's left over goes 100% into advertising for ub.c. :)

may be a bit much. but i think its neccessary for us to survive. i won't elaborate because you and I have already had this conversation.


edit: the horizontal ones would be easier if they were down below the quickreply bx. because then you'd be like... this is on topic and hey look heres a link let me go shopping

It took a minute or two to get used to, but either way works for me :)

I think the adwords looks fine on UB. You're right about US though, the adwords look awkward b/c of the white background vs. the black of the forum.

I think minor tweaks like those don't even matter anyways...It's the content that really counts.

Even on just the homepage? (all threads and posts and such are unaffected)

What about it bothers you?

We're making a little over a dollar a day from those adwords right now, haha. As we get more traffic, hopefully there'll be more coming in from those.
If you guys get really bored, you can click those and get us money to be able to advertise and stuff. :)

maybe it's just me, but over half the links on those little adds don't work for me
