I just got back and checked my aim and saw this message from voca. I wanted to post it and see what you guys thought....
v0ca: you ever thought of running a forum dedicated to german-engineered cars (merc, porsche, bmw, mini, audi,vw) and try to ultimately have one HUGE forum but smaller communities within the forum that make up the forums for the different makes of cars. kinda like vwvortex.com has audis and vw's (cause theyre the same company) but the audi and vw people don't really collaborate a lot. jsut an idea I think it'd be a really sweet forum.
Auto response from CalliditasCastor: work. 404.213.8616
v0ca: imagine- you go to the main website, click on bmw, and then you have basically everything unitedbimmer has but its only 1/6th of the actual forums. and then there would be other forums for all other makes and some forums for collaboration between the different german car owners. itd be a great way of getting some sweet meets together if the forum got really huge. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to get people to come over. I know that if vwvortex had a bmw section I'd be over in a second because I love all german cars and have freinds with vws/audis. v0ca: it wouldn't be anymore scripting, but you'd need to hire multiple supermods for each forum make/section. so like 1 or 2 supermods for bmw section, 1 or 2 in porsche, etc. I personal think it'd be the ultimate forum, and I know plenty of freinds that would all love to be on the same forum as me and the rest of the bmw owners. oh well, I'm sure youve already thought about it before anyways it just sounds really sweet right now. v0ca: and and you can throw opel in there too, totally forgot opel haha v0ca: not too mention that if we had a HUGE userbase than it'd be so easy to get crazy sponsorship contracts. we could get richer and richer building the community better and more popular. probably be a really nice addition to the resume.. :-)
v0ca: all other german car forums would be futile, because itd be like 6 or 7 communities coming together, collaborating. it'd be sweet v0ca signed off at 10:14:52 PM.
Whatcha guys think? In the future of course.... not now.
as long as we can get ricer and ricer, and maybe we can actually USE our server? and secondly,(dont flame me for this, if you dont like it the STFU!!!) as long as we can defeat bimmerwerkz!!! haha
on a serious note, i dont like the actual concept, but i think in the way he put it, it would be cool, like tremek.com is a huuuge car forum that has every car in there, and its just stupid, when you scroll through all the different makes of the cars, its wayy too long
and lastly, isnt that kinda like the same thing we have now just with more companies?

there really is no reason that we have to stay strictly german. I think it is a very close idea to the one that we already have going (with the united cars thing). It was just worded a little different. I think it is a great idea, but you were already leaning that way with united cars harry

I think rather than limiting ourselves to just german cars, it might be better if we focus on the communities that have the most enthusiasts, like BMW and Subaru.
