United Member of the Month idea - United Bimmer Community

Just an idea but I think it would be cool if we had a United member of the month or something. Maybe let the mods or even everyone vote. It could be based on contribution to forums, helpfullnes, etc.
Maybe the winnner could have a thing below there name that said member of the month on such and such date. It might encourage people to try to be helpfull and contribute to the forums.
Watcha think?

Not a bad idea, But i think it could be tough to do, you might get the same people winning over and over and then people complaining, but I dont know why they would. For someone putting in the time to help others out, spend enough time on the fourums and try to expand and advertise the club it might be worthwile.

What are the rewards?

I can't really think of some rewards that the normal person doesn't have other than what the mods/Harry has.

I haven't really concluded what I think about it yet. But a poll with options may help me narrow my thinking down.

interesting idea. but as already stated, dont know what perks there might be, aside from just the pride of being member of the month.

I was just thinking, the member of the month automatically gets his avatar changed to something like a medal... and his signature gets the tag "Member of the month - June 06" automatically added. It should be a easy script. To remove all biases, you could code the whole thing up and then randomly pick from a pool (define the pool to be whatever classification you want, posts > X, post ration > X, ...) ... the more I type, the better the idea sounds now

To make it more fair, you could say that no previous winner could of have won it consecutivly.. or again in a certain time period... Though, it still sounds a bit off. Not sure.

problem is that the member thing is bound to repeat after a few months... I would be curious how many active members there are in this place tho..anyway to easily find that out?

If you look near the bottom of the forum's homepage, it shows the number of "Active Users", which are people who have logged in in the past 30 days.

i think there should be nominees(somehow controlled to 4 or 5) and then real voting, like nomate as many people as you want, then the people who get like over 20 votes go in, and then its between those people
