i think we could actaully start to make due with some regional forums... we could start them out bigger (except a cali of course) and then as more members come shrink them down.. i know a bunch of guys from dtm pacific would come over for sure if there was a NW section

im not sure what you mean by this... but basically if we had regional forums, members could use them to plan meets drives etc.. They work good since that particular thread is only important to a portion of the members (the ones from that region)

Haha I though of that last night and I was going to make a suggestion today for a regional forum. Guess you beat me to it. I think it is a good idea, specially once we get a lot more members.

Sounds good... cept, with B-F.com, it seemed that the regionals weren't used that much. I went to a meet using it, a shitty one, but still, a meet. What about having the ability to send an email announcement or PMing those in your region for events? I don't know, just an idea to compliment the regional idea.

Not a bad idea dough... or maybe I could program a script to handle all the meetups on the homepage (when we get one or something).

Do you guys think we need a regional forum now, or should we wait until we get more members so it doesn't site there vacant? lol

I never went to bmw forums, so I can't say, but DTM's board was super successful since they had leaders for each major region that showed most interest, these leaders were also very dedicated to what they were promoting.

But the success of each region depends on the people. I think I stirred up a lot of comotion when I set up meets in PDX, but as I no longer live there, I don't know how it held up. However I have failed miserably with the Texas region, but I think it's because of: a) I didn't/don't really know the cool hang outs, and b) people just didn't want to show up.

yeah over on dtm they have "reps" for each part of the state, and they are in charge of setting up a few meets every x amount of days/months
