DIYs Collection

What do you guys think about starting a part of the homepage for DIYs that our members write up? It's always good to add more DIYs out there for the community, and if we ensure ours are all good quality with easy instructions and many pics, we can build a very nice library.

I already have the M3 Mirror DIY I can convert to HTML and add as the first one. When I get my m50 manifold installed, I'll try to make a NICE diy for that, as all the ones on the internet now are very flakey and vague. I can also make a diy for a catback exhaust install, cams install, and m3 xbrace install, when I get it all done in the next week or so. That'd be a pretty nice start for the library.

I'm thinking this could be our next step forward toward the goal of building a bmw community for sharing information and uniting enthusiasts. :) We want to be more than just a forum, and this could be a great addition imo. If they DIYs are good, people will start linking to them on our site, bringing in more traffic.

What do you guys think? Anyone else think they'd be interested in contributing any DIYs? haha :cheers

Sounds like a great idea. :thumbup I think we should worry more about quality than content.

Yeah, I like it. In fact, would be kinda hard to not have it evolve in the forums eventually :guitarist

Yea thats a great idea. Every mod i do il throw in a DIY. Once i get home from school next week il put together an oil change DIY, and a tranny fluid DIY to start it off.

OT: Nice, so your doing the cams yourself? using the pelican method?

Nah, I'm getting a local guy to do it for me, but I plan to be there learning all along the way. :D

Also I was thinking it'd be cool to get a general knowledge base for bmws together.

For example, make a page for the history of the m3, then build pages of other general information, such as what a vanos is, related to bmws.

That would be great. It would help bring some people here and I'm sure we could all learn a little. :)

Exactly. After all, this site is just as much about sharing information as it is connecting with other bmw enthusiasts. :rock

If you put it together and organize it to a point where it's ready to be put out there, i'll post it. :)
