United Bimmer Email Sent Out
 

I just sent out the following email to all members (for those of you who didn't get it due to settings in your control panel).

This is just a quick note to thank all our members for supporting our site during it’s startup. In the past week we’ve gained many new active members and broken the 10,000 post mark (we’re around 12,500 today). This is remarkable considering the length of time we’ve been open!

United Bimmer is more than a forum. We are a community, brought together by our passion for BMWs, united through dedication and technology. One step at a time we're progressing toward our vision of building a completely dynamic website, integrated with the forums as a backend, offering services and functionality to further the community.

This week we introduced the Rate My Car system, providing members with a place to show off their car in a Hot-or-Not style rating system, with the website keeping a real time ranking of all active participants. This was custom programmed for United Bimmer, allowing members to use their existing forum login to access the system.

Another feature of United Bimmer unveiled about a week ago is the United Wallpaper Gallery. This is a system, again integrated with your forums account, allows members to submit wallpapers for others to download, rate (from 1 to 5 stars), and post comments about. We aim to grow this gallery over time, with our moderators actively ensuring only excellent quality wallpapers are added, and have a public database that anyone can drop by once a week or so to find the perfect image to replace their old, boring background.

Many more features are planned in coming weeks at United Bimmer, so stay active in the forums to help decide the direction of our progress. Every feature we add and every decision we make is first debated in the forums with members throwing ideas off each other. The members decide the path this community will progress. This site is built by the members, for the members, and we’ll never forget that.
