ok..i cna help you on this one.

Buy the sensor online. 75$

install it your self. Just about the easiest thing to change. You just remove the cover surround the oil pan and 4 screws..the sensor is out.

took me about 45minutes total.

Hi, I''m a new member with the same issue.

The amber light comes on for a few seconds after starting and never comes on again, where can one get that sensor online?

Cheers.

My oil level sensor occasionally give a fantom reading on my 105k mile 325iT. From what I have read, the oil enters the sensor through a hole. It seems like it might be subject to oil sludge, but from the posts I have read, no one has been successful in fixing it by cleaning it, only a new sensor fixes it. I had never heard anyone suggest cleaning the connector, that would be worth a try.

If I have to replace it, for $100 for an unnecessary sensor, I think I'll just ignore the light.

My 02 does the same thing. It is probably the sending unit and is no big deal
