Exclamation Recent United Bimmer Stats (as of June 2006)

As per Chris's request, here are some recent server stats I got from the little goblins that run the UB server. Enjoy.

2006 to date:

Breakdown by hour, to see how many UB'ers are night owls. (reporting from central time zone)

Month to date, by day. We've had a few server issues earlier this month, so there was some downtime, and dips in the stats. The higher days were from when the NY Times article ran. We average around 1k unique people and about 15,000 page views per day.

This month so far, broken down by country. So far this month, we've had visitors from almost 160 different countries. That's over 83% of the world!

Our search engine traffic. It's increasing every month still, however we do need to improve on that. Only 3.4% of our traffic comes from search engines, most is from other websites linking to us. Yahoo likes us most of any search engine.

Returning visitors, the downward traffic slope after the NYTimes article became less popular, and some other visual graphics:

Some other notables:

The e36 common problems FAQ article by dudesky has brought in over 1,300 unique visitors this month alone, and the ICV cleaning DIY has brought in almost 700.

So far this month alone (2 1/2 weeks), there has been over 7,100 votes in the Rate My Car system.

66.3% of our visitors use Internet Explorer, while only 22.8% use Firefox. Safari has an even 5%, and Opera has 1.4%.

88.7% of our users are on Windows, with 6.3% on a Mac, and 4.4% on Linux (a surprisingly high number).

We have over 48,000 pages indexed by Google. That's incredible considering how we're still fairly new. That's about half of what Bimmerwerkz has indexed, and about 1/4th what Bimmerforums has indexed. Considering how long they've been around and how long we have, we're making great progress.

The little wallpaper thumbnails in the sidebars have received over 37,000 views in the past two and a half weeks, and almost 500 clicks.

We're getting on average 12.8 new members a day. We average about 250-275 posts per day and about 15 new threads per day. The biggest post-whore is yours truly, and the one to complain the most is chrisdoesntknow. The most viewed thread is Show off your e36 and the most replied in thread is This or That.

Congrats everyone and keep up the good work!

Anyone have any questions or other requests?

Good job harry. We have to keep the "good" members on and ban any dickheads to keep our forum better than others. I hate all of the bullshit that you have to sift through.

Haha, it's not me, it's you guys. Without all of you, it'd probably get pretty lonely around here with me just talking to myself.

We have a great community, and with the dedicated staff and fantastic core members, we're sure to continue growing in a positive direction.

FreeBSD unix is the OS. Awstats is most of the screenshots, and Google Analytics (used to be called Urchin) is the last 4-box pretty screenshot.

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.
