^^^ here in atlanta there's tons of lights that have cameras... and believe me (i learned the hard way, the cameras work) they work. at first they were giving out points on your license as well, but people fought that for the reason you said. they don't know who was in the car.

so they found a simple solution. They billed the person who's name is on the registration. Since they aren't assiging points, they are fining the vehicle, not the driver, so you can't use the "i wasn't driving so why should i pay" excuse. sucks.

they publicly reported on how much was made off those camera's last year.

the camera's at north point and old milton generates $60,000 a month in revenue.

the other ones aren't as much, but thats still rediculous.

The time that I got caught for running a red light I was lucky, because the lights had only been up for a week or 2. It was just issued as a warning because the lights have to be there for at least a few months first. Kinda funny that it was in my moms car, and a few days later another pic came in the mail of running that same red light in the same car and it was my dad haha.

i ran 2 red lights yesterday cause i was pissed off that the lights stop a HUGE line of traffic for one car to go. so when i saw it turning yellow i just punched it and got through fine. the other one i just didnt care i cant stand that light. it stays green for 3 seconds at a time

Something like this?

If the camera works, it should bear you out. But the yellow is supposed to last long enough for cars "doing the speed limit" to react easily. That film can help you if you're in the right.(As much as I hate to say it, I think you're screwed.) We supposedly have cameras on the toll roads in Oklahoma to catch freeriders. They're all fake except two! One is halfway between OKC and Lawton, the other is halfway between OKC and Tulsa.

By the way, thanks to E36 PWR for the sig job!

im sure someone already said this, but i thought id add my two cents.

three cents actually

1: the cameras take pictures of your front end, capturing driver and license plate. itsounds stupid, but a guy beat a case becaus ehe ducked while going through intersection (yeah, thats safe)

2: get license plate spray. costs 5 bucks, spray it on both plates, cant tell its there, cameras cant take pictures

3: if you do get a ticket, and they can tell its you, the camera only captures you in the middle of the intersection. explain what happened (only lie a bit and say he cut you off and you were looking at him trying to avoid an acciden when you realized what happened. give the make/model/everything of his car. im sure he has a ticket the way he drives)

it helps if ou actually get PULLED OVER, cuz cops rarely go to court. pictures are different though.

i dunno, just trying to help

So...I just got a ticket last night for running a red. I went with my dad to pick up his car from the shop, and on the way back I was trying to get through a yellow, but was too lazy to downshift so I ran the red. Next thing I know there are blue and red flashing lights behind me and a big ass annoying spotlight in my mirror. Cop was a dick too.

^^^ that sucks. next time downshift the cop probably would have pulled you over still tho, depending on how close you were.

I never got a ticket for running the red (1st post in this thread), but the other day i ran the red left turn signal. . . in DC. that one may be the one i get.

A fine would suck, but at least it's no points. On the plus side though, nobody got hurt and your car is fine.
