how big? like 3 series big enough? I was thinking of those early 90's 4 cylinder accords or something. Or like an old turbo diesel benz?

E23 or E32 735? Should fit all of the parameters.

agreed with the e32 735 suggestion. the m30 and the zf tranny are bulletproof.

one thing to keep in mind is the front suspension ... if the roads are bad, its gonna go through more bushings than any pension can buy ...

As you all know BMW have expensive maintenance. I would suggest something American or Japanese brand.

i was going to suggest something japanese. prolly a 4 door accord or camry. . . decent gas mileage (in most cases) and typically cheaper to maintain. . .

yea if they want something big, they gonna have to compromise for the gas mileage, other than that, as i said b4, older 5 or 7 series
